Stewart County, Georgia was established in 1830, the county name originated from Randolph County. The county was named after General Daniel Stewart (1759 – 1829), a hero of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. Stewart County has a total area of 459 square miles, with a total population of 6042 residents (and a population density of 13.16 residents per square mile).
