Heard County, Georgia was established in 1830, the county name originated from Carroll, Coweta and Troup Counties. The county was named after Stephen Heard (1740 – 1815), a hero of the Revolutionary War. Heard County has a total area of 296 square miles, with a total population of 11633 residents (and a population density of 39.3 residents per square mile).
