About the County: Established in 1857, Knox County, Nebraska was originally formed from Pierce County and unestablished Nebraska territory (Former names-L’Eau Qui Court (1857-1867) and Emmet (1867-1873)). The county was named after Henry Knox, the first United States Secretary of War. Knox County has a reported population of 8565 residents, and makes up 1,108 square miles of Nebraska’s land area. The count court is located in the county seat city of Center, Nebraska.
