Dickinson County was established in 1891. The county was formed from parts of Iron County, Marquette County and Menominee County. Dickinson County was named after Donald M. Dickinson (1846-1917): Postmaster General in the Cleveland Administration. The county has a total of 26168 residents, and makes up an area of 777 square miles.
